Man United transfers: Radamel Falcao not thinking about Red Devils interest
Man United transfers: Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao says he is not thinking about interest from the Red Devils
Radamel Falcao has distanced himself from reports suggesting the Atletico Madrid striker is set to join Manchester United in the summer.
The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils amid speculation Wayne Rooney could quit Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Falcao, who has been a long-term Chelsea target, scored twice in a 5-0 victory over Granada on Sunday night, with United scouts reportedly in attendance at the Vicente Calderón.
However, the 27-year-old insisted that he won’t be distracted by interest from the Premier League and underlined his commitment to Atletico’s cause this term.
“In recent weeks I have tried to isolate myself and not think about the rumours about my future,” Falcao told Colombian radio station RCN.
“I do not really know where that information has come from [joining Manchester United], that is part of the press.
“I’m focused only on Atletico Madrid. I do not let the market rumours affect my performance.”
Falcao has scored 30 goals in 34 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side this season, taking his tally to 66 strikes since joining from Porto in 2011.
