Mikel Arteta believes that the manner of Arsenal’s comeback against Norwich City on Saturday will be a massive confidence boost for the Gunners.

The north Londoners found themselves 1-0 down with less than 10 minutes left to play at Emirates Stadium, before Arteta’s penalty and goals from Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski capped a remarkable turnaround and wrapped up a 3-1 win.

The victory hoisted Arsenal up into third place in the Premier League table and Arteta insists that the Gunners can draw inspiration from their fightback as they prepare to welcome Everton to The Emirates on Tuesday night.

“We have a lot to play for, it is massive for us to get into the Champions League spots and we have to keep fighting,” Arteta said.

“It does [boost confidence to win in this manner] because we know we can react when something bad happens.”

The Spaniard added: “It was very tough because they didn’t have any chances and then they get a free kick and score.

“It was a tough one to take, and the crowd got a bit nervous but we had the character to get back into it and then win.”
