Giroud, Podolski & more: Twitter reacts as Arsenal draw with Everton
Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski both tweet their thoughts after Arsenal and Everton share a goalless draw at The Emirates
Arsenal’s hopes of securing a top-four finish took a blow after the Gunners were held to a goalless draw by Everton at The Emirates.
The home side were unable to break down a resilient Toffees side, who are also chasing Champions League qualification, with Olivier Giroud wasting Arsenal’s best chances.
Here is the best of the Twitter reaction from the professionals – in chronological order – to the stalemate in north London.
Marseille midfielder Joey Barton (@Joey7Barton) gives the top-four clash a big billing: “Arsenal v Everton now. Should be a good game this…”
West Brom midfielder James Hurst (@hursty43) isn’t impressed by the Gunners’ start: “Arsenal been gymed three times in last minute!”

England cricket star Alex Hales (@AlexHales1) isn’t impressed by Bacary Sagna’s antics: “Sagna you filthy little cheat!”
Former Middlesbrough midfielder Jan Aage Fjortoft (@JanAageFjortoft) is impressed by Everton’s rearguard: “Brilliant defending by Everton! #efc”
West Brom star Steven Reid (@stevenreid12) hails his compatriot’s performance: “Coleman has been unbelievable tonight!”
Former Tottenham chairman Lord Sugar (@Lord_Sugar) wonders if Morgan will go on another Wenger rant: “Well, well a draw. I won’t be surprised if @piersmorgan starts slagging off Wenger again!”
Everton youngster Shane Duffy (@ShaneDuffy34) is pleased with a draw: “Well done lads, back four were unreal. Buzzing for Ross as well, good point away now bring on Sunderland !!!!!”
As is Phil Neville (@fizzer18), who was an unused substitute: “What a great game-both teams fought hard-some outstanding performances on both sides-Barkley is a going to be a player!!!”
Arsenal forward Giroud (@_OlivierGiroud_) has his say: “We worked very hard tonight… unfortunately we didn’t win. But everything is still possible and we will do our best to win against Fulham next Saturday !”
