Daniel Sturridge scored twice to fill the void left by Luis Suarez and fire Liverpool to a 6-0 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Daniel Agger made the breakthrough in the third minute with a header into the top corner before Jordan Henderson scored his first goal in the 17th minute.

Sturridge scored two in the space of six second-half minutes to seal the win, with substitute Fabio Borini and Henderson both netting late strikes.
