Sir Alex Ferguson has been named as the richest football manager in Britain in 2013, with the Manchester United manager coming just ahead of his former player Roy Keane.

Ferguson is worth £34m, according to the fourth annual Sunday Times Sport Rich List, which will be published in full on 28 April.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is third on the list with a fortune of £29m, ahead of Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini (£21m) and Republic of Ireland head coach Giovanni Trapattoni (£21m).

A list of the wealthiest Formula 1 drivers born or based in the UK and Ireland has also been published, with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton third in the chart with £60m.

Hamilton’s former McLaren team-mate Jenson Button is close behind on £58m.
