Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen named Premier League player of the month
Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen is named the Premier League player of the month as Everton's David Moyes scoops managers' prize

Jan Vertonghen has been named as the Premier League player of the month for March after an impressive run of form for Tottenham.
The Belgian, who joined Spurs from Ajax last summer, scored three goals for the north Londoners last month – including a brace in a man-of-the-match display at Anfield – to help the Lilywhites continue their push for a top-four finish.
“I’m very proud to win this trophy,” he told Spurs’ website. “It was an unbelievable feeling when I was told about it.”
Looking ahead to Sunday’s Premier League clash with Everton, the 25-year-old added: “We will have to be right at the top of our game against Everton, they are a tough side to beat but we’ll be ready.
“We have big players who are used to the pressure. It’s like a final for us every game now, so we have to perform every week and every midweek.
“We know we have to win every game to be in the top four and to move into the next round of the Europa League. It’s a good pressure and a good motivation. Hopefully, I’ll score a few more goals as well!”
Meanwhile, Everton manager David Moyes has been named the Premier League manager of the month.
The Scot led the Toffees to three successive wins in the top flight last month and collected the award for a 10th time.
