Edinson Cavani will move to La Liga if the Uruguay international leaves Napoli this summer, according to the striker’s father.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs over the past eight months despite penning a new contract at Stadio San Paolo in August.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both been linked with a big-money swoop for the South American, who has scored 29 goals in 34 Serie A appearances this season.

Luis Cavani expects his son to remain in Naples, but says that Spain would be the Serie A top scorer’s first choice should he leave.

“He feels very comfortable in Italy, and I don’t say that to make the fans or the club happy,” Luis Cavani told Ovacion.

“I say it because that is what he feels, because it is the truth.”

He added: “If he is [leaving], it seems that his future will be in Spain.”

Cavani has scored 104 goals in 138 appearances for Napoli after completing a switch to the Naples outfit from Palermo in 2010.
