Fabio Coentrao has opened the door to a possible move to Chelsea this summer after confirming that he is keen to quit Real Madrid.

The left-back has been limited to just 16 La Liga starts for Los Blancos this season and admits that he has not felt “wanted” since moving to the Bernabeu from Benfica back in 2011.

With Madrid boss Jose Mourinho looking increasingly likely to take over at Chelsea this summer after his departure from the Spanish club was confirmed earlier this week, Coentrao could follow his compatriot to Stamford Bridge.

And the 25-year-old Portugal international says he is keen to find a “solution” to his situation in the Spanish capital.

“From the first day I do not think I was wanted here,” said Coentrao. “Today it seems that everyone wants me to leave the club. I do not know what I have done wrong.

“We must find a solution that is good for both the club and myself, so that no one will lose out.

“When I leave, I do not close the door to anyone.”
