Demba Ba: Chelsea players buzzing about Jose Mourinho reports

Demba Ba has revealed that Chelsea’s players are excited about the reports linking Jose Mourinho with a return to Stamford Bridge.

Speculation that the Portuguese coach is in line for a return to west London has heightened in recent weeks, and interim Blues boss Rafael Benítez claimed that “everybody knows who will be here next year” on Tuesday.

And Ba, who joined Chelsea from Newcastle back in January, says that the players have been excitedly recalling Mourinho’s first stint in charge of the Blues in the dressing room.

“The players at Chelsea are all talking about the situation and telling stories about when Jose was at the club before,” Ba is quoted as saying in the Sun.

“They are fans of his and love him as a person and as a coach. He is still greatly appreciated here.”

Mourinho led Chelsea to two Premier League titles during his spell in charge of the Blues between 2004 and 2007.
