Frank Lampard scored his 29th England goal to help the Three Lions come from behind and salvage a draw against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley.
West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long gave the visitors a 13th-minute lead after producing a sumptuous header from Seamus Coleman’s delicious cross.
But Chelsea’s record goal-scorer levelled the friendly when he collected Daniel Sturridge’s pass and fired a low effort past Ireland goalkeeper David Forde.
Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Theo Walcott both had late chances to secure a victory but Giovanni Trapattoni’s men held on to seal a famous draw in north London.
