I could retire here! Yaya Toure happy with Man City contract decision
Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure insists he made the right decision to sign a new deal with the Eastlands outfit
Yaya Toure insists he made the right decision in signing a contract extension at Manchester City and says he could finish his career at the Etihad Stadium.
The Ivory Coast international put pen to paper on a new deal in April to end speculation surrounding the midfielder’s future amid reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Toure was one of the key players in City’s Premier League title success last season and has scored seven goals in 29 Premier League appearances this term.
The Citizens will look to bounce back both domestically and in the Champions League next season, and Toure is happy that he decided to commit his future to City.
“I was thinking about it a long time and want to have a long time at City because it is a club where everybody wants to achieve something,” said Toure.
“City have a big project in the future and I am very happy with my decision.
“I want to stay at the one club where I will get everything and I think the club will get everything here.
“The people are nice, the fans are nice and they have a big project.”
He added: “If I retire at Manchester City I hope to retire with a lot of trophies, something very important.
“I want to do as much as possible to make this club become great, with my force, my commitment, my mentality. Most importantly, I want to try to make
the fans happy.”
Toure has scored 29 goals in 128 appearances for City after completing a £24m move to the Eastlands outfit from Barcelona in 2010.
