After Thursday’s opener, West Indies take on Pakistan at the Oval in London, before England face Australia at Edgbaston on Saturday 8 June.

England are placed alongside the Aussies, New Zealand and Sri Lanka in Group A, while Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies and India make up Group B.

Despite the recent IPL corruption allegations, India captain MS Dhoni insists that the mood amongst his team is “fantastic” as they gear up for their curtain-raiser against South Africa next Thursday.

“It’s good to be out of there,” Dhoni told a news conference on Thursday. “It’s always good to come here and play some cricket. The weather now, since we landed yesterday evening, has not been really nice. The team’s mood is fantastic.”

Tickets for the semi-finals and final, as well as most of the group matches of the ICC Champions Trophy are still available on viagogo, so why not book your place to witness some of the matches today?
