Liverpool transfers: Brendan Rodgers expecting interest in Luis Suárez but insists that the striker is not for sale

Brendan Rodgers admits that Liverpool are expecting interest in Luis Suárez during the summer transfer window but has insisted that the striker is not for sale.
The 26-year-old’s future has been a subject of speculation in recent months following an impressive campaign in which the Uruguay forward netted 23 Premier League goals.
Suárez was once again shrouded in controversy towards the end of the season however, after he was handed a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea defender Bransilav Ivanovic during a Premier League match at Anfield.
But although Rodgers concedes that Suárez “has a price”, the Northern Irishman is keen to keep the forward at the club beyond the summer amid reported interest from Bayern Munich.
“Every player has their price but there’s certainly no pressure for the club to sell him. We’re trying to build that bit of quality so he’s not for sale,” Rodgers is quoted as saying by the Sun.
“I don’t have any doubts there will be interest in him this summer, because he’s up there.
“There’s a small percentage of players who are world class and he’s in that bracket, so I don’t think it will be too dissimilar to when I first came in last summer, with clubs making their interest known.
“People will want to take him, but I think we all recognise how integral he is. The owners have been absolutely unequivocal in their resolve in terms of wanting to keep him.”
