Man City transfers: Bayern’s Arjen Robben tight-lipped on future
Man City transfers: Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben plays down speculation linking him with a move to the Citizens
Arjen Robben has remained tight-lipped on speculation linking the Bayern Munich winger with a move to Manchester City this summer.
The Netherlands international has been one of the driving forces behind Bayern’s run to the Champions League final, scoring three goals in eight European appearances.
Robben’s future at the Bundesliga champions is in doubt after being limited to 15 appearances this season with Mario Götze set to arrive in the summer.
But the former Blues winger refused to comment on reports suggesting the Citizens could prise the midfielder away from Bavaria and to Eastlands at the end of the season.
“I am not dealing with this speculation,” said Robben.
“There is so much speculation but I only want to deal with football.
“I still have two years on my deal so why should I leave?
“It is all about performance on the pitch and in the past games I have shown I can contribute here at Bayern.
“I am only focused on Bayern. We want to win the title on May 25 and that is the only thing that counts.”
Robben scored 19 goals in 105 appearances for Chelsea before completing a reported £24m move to Real Madrid in 2007.
