Man City transfers: Edinson Cavani’s future to become clear, says agent
Man City transfers: Edinson Cavani's agent says the Napoli striker's future could be decided within the next week
Edinson Cavani’s future could become clear in the coming days amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester City, according to the Napoli striker’s agent.
The Uruguay international has been heavily linked with a move away from Naples at the end of the season, with a host of top clubs interested in the forward.
Cavani has continued his prolific performances for the Serie A outfit this season, scoring 28 goals in 32 Serie A appearances, after penning a new contract in August.
And Cavani’s agent Claudio Anellucci insists the South American striker’s future will become clearer in the coming days.
“Cavani in this moment has a contract with Napoli, but something more about him will be known in the next days,” his agent Claudio Anellucci told Radio Sportiva.
He added: “Whoever is interested in him will knock at Napoli’s door.
“Generally when there is a clause to negotiate, a player’s conditions are absolutely clear – in case of just interest, these decisions will be announced to the player.”
In April, Anellucci insisted Cavani’s suitors would have to match the striker’s £48m contract release clause to prise the South American away from Naples.
“I also think this might be the correct fee for the player,” said Anellucci. “It’s a bit early to talk about this though.
“But it’s also normal that a player like Cavani wants to win and then ask the club what their plans are for the future.”
