Asmir Begovic says he is happy to stay at Stoke City amid reported interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Serbia international has been a key cog in Tony Pulis’ Potters side over the past two seasons, prompting speculation the shot-stopper could make a move to a top-four club.

The Stoke manager signed Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland in the January transfer window, which unsurprisingly resulted in reports suggesting Begovic is set to leave this summer.

But the 25-year-old insists he is planning to be at the Britannia Stadium next term.

“All the speculation is flattering and nice, but I am focused on my job here,” he said.

“As long as Stoke want me, I am contracted. I know football is a business and we will see what happens. You never know what is around the corner, but as far as I am concerned I am planning to be here.

“I am happy here and I am desperate to help the club push forward. We all want to win trophies and be as successful as we can, that is the main aim.

“I do have ambitions to play at the highest level and test myself if the opportunity arises. I can’t think too much ahead. I am just thinking about here. I am contracted and there’s nothing more I can say.”
