Rio Ferdinand will do a ‘great job’ for David Moyes at Man United
Rio Ferdinand still has plenty to offer Manchester United in the coming years, according to QPR boss Harry Redknapp
Rio Ferdinand still has plenty to offer Manchester United in the coming years, according to Harry Redknapp.
The 34-year-old defender on Wednesday announced his retirement from international football after making 81 appearances for England.
Ferdinand, whose current United deal expires this summer, has made no secret of his desire to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
And Redknapp, who handed the centre-half his first Premier League appearance while in charge of West Ham United, is backing Ferdinand to impress under new United boss David Moyes.
“People say he has lost his pace. Well, he may have lost a yard but he is still as quick as anybody because he was so quick anyway,” Redknapp told talkSPORT.
“I’m sure he will do a great job for David [Moyes] if he sees him in his plans at Old Trafford.”
