Robin van Persie: Many more trophies to come from Man United

Robin van Persie is hoping that his maiden Premier League title triumph will be the “first of many” with Manchester United.
The Dutch striker played a key part in United’s title success this season, scoring 25 league goals for the Red Devils since joining the club from Arsenal last August.
And the 29-year-old, whose last taste of silverware came back in 2005 when Arsenal won the FA Cup, is determined to help United continue their success in years to come.
“We joke around a lot but when we have to work, we do that,” Van Persie told MUTV. “We train hard and we play hard as well so hopefully there will be many more trophies to come. I’m sure that will happen with this team.
“We’ve got loads of big characters. This is what I like about this team. Everyone is his own character, everyone adds to the team. To become champions in the end, every little thing helps.”
Van Persie added: “The medal hasn’t left my neck since yesterday, it’s been here all night. The trophy’s a heavy trophy and it’s great to win it finally.”
The striker also reserved special praise for Sir Alex Ferguson, who is to step down after 26 years in charge of United in the summer.
“To be able to work with Sir Alex for one year, it’s been a massive year,” he said.
“It’s been an unbelievable year which I will never forget. He’s an unbelievable manager, maybe the best ever. But he’s an even greater person. I’m really honoured to have worked with him.”
