Tony Pulis leaves Stoke City by mutual consent after seven years in charge at the Britannia Stadium
Tony Pulis has left Stoke City by mutual consent after seven years in charge at the Britannia Stadium, the club have confirmed.
Pulis, 55, held talks with chairman Peter Coates on Tuesday, just days after the Potters finished 13th in the Premier League.
The club released a statement saying: “Stoke City and Tony Pulis confirm that they have mutually agreed that Tony will leave the club with immediate effect.”
Pulis guided Stoke into the Premier League in 2008 and has successfully kept them in the English top flight.
Former Stoke striker Michael Owen wrote on Twitter: “No denying he did a great job getting them to the Premier League and keeping them there.”
