Gareth Bale is expecting an “electric” atmosphere when Tottenham travel to Chelsea for their top-four showdown on Wednesday.
Spurs have the chance to move into fourth place and level on points with the Blues with a win, while Chelsea will all but secure Champions League qualification if they emerge victorious.
And PFA player of the year Bale, who has been in stunning form this term and netted his 20th league goal of the season in Saturday’s win over Southampton, insists that Andre Villas-Boas’s men are up for the fight ahead of the crunch clash.
“We’ve played well away from home and won a lot of games on the road,” Bale told Spurs’ website. “The belief is certainly there and we’ll go there and stick to our game-plan.
“We’re ready, we know it’s a big match with a lot at stake and we’re all looking forward to it.
“The atmosphere will be electric. Both sets of fans know what this game means.”
Bale, who also won the PFA young player of the year award, is understood to have been offered a new £130,000 a week contract with Spurs in recent weeks.
