Tottenham’s Gareth Bale hails ‘fantastic’ Andre Villas-Boas

Gareth Bale has thanked Andre Villas-Boas for giving him the chance to play in different positions and “show his stuff” for Tottenham this season.
The 23-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s top performers, netting 20 goals and scooping the PFA player of the year award after a stellar campaign for the north Londoners.
Bale has been deployed on both wings and has also been played in a central role by Villas-Boas this season.
And the Wales international is thankful to the Portuguese coach for helping to get the best out of him.
“The manager has been fantastic for me, playing me in different positions where I am able to find the space and actually show my stuff. I have really enjoyed my football and been able to play well,” said Bale.
“The team has been fantastic this season and we have played some very good stuff, it is always easier to play in a really good team.”
Bale, whose stunning form has inevitably seen him linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, hinted that he is planning to stay in north London by declaring his belief that Spurs are moving “in the right direction”.
“I want to play at the highest level possible and be playing against the best teams in the world,” he continued.
“I think the club is going in the right direction. All our objectives are the same, we just have to try to achieve them now.”
Tottenham, currently fifth in the Premier League table, travel to Stoke City for their penultimate league game on Sunday.
