Steve Clarke admits he would love to see Romelu Lukaku return to West Bromwich on loan next season.

The striker, who spent the season on loan at The Hawthorns, signed off in style as he netted a hat-trick in Sunday’s thrilling 5-5 draw with Manchester United.

The 20-year-old’s treble took his tally for the season to an impressive 17 goals, as well as seven assists.

And Clarke concedes that he would jump at the chance to be able to bring the Belgian back to the Baggies for another loan spell.

“Romelu is a Chelsea player and he will go back there,” said Clarke.

“We wish him well. If Chelsea wish to let him out on loan next season then we would love to have him back.”

Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht for around £10m back in the summer of 2011.
