Wilfried Zaha ‘will have chance to achieve something big at Man United’

Roy Hodgson has backed Wilfried Zaha to be a hit at Manchester United when he moves to Old Trafford this summer.
The 20-year-old, who was loaned back to Crystal Palace in January after signing for the Red Devils earlier in the year, helped Ian Holloway’s men secure promotion to the Premier League after a play-off final victory over Watford.
Zaha agreed a five-and-a-half year deal with United in January and England boss Hodgson believes the youngster has a bright future ahead of him.
“I like Wilfried Zaha,” Hodgson told The FA’s website. “He is a good player.
“I went to Palace not so long back to have a look at him and of course he now has a massive move to Manchester United.
“It seems to me he is on the threshold of something big.
“He will be given the opportunity. When a club like Manchester United is prepared to pay a lot of money for a player, because they will help them to win things, it is a tremendous boost to both confidence and ego.
“As coaches we can’t do any more. After you have lit the touch paper, all we can do is sit back and hope they buzz.”
Zaha has scored 18 goals in 142 appearances for Crystal Palace between 2009 and 2013.
