Neil Warnock has backed Wilfried Zaha to make an instant impact at Manchester United after helping to fire Crystal Palace into the Premier League.

The 20-year-old, who signed a five-and-a-half year deal with the Red Devils in January before being immediately loaned back to Palace, won the extra-time penalty against Watford which Kevin Phillips converted to secure the Eagles’ promotion to the top flight on Monday.

There have been suggestions that Palace will ask United if they can take Zaha back on loan for another season but Warnock, who worked with the youngster during his spell in charge at Selhurst Park, expects Zaha to hit the ground running at Old Trafford.

“I don’t think they would have won [the Championship play-off final] without Zaha,” Warnock told talkSPORT.

“Every time he got the ball you always thought something was going to happen. That’s what he has been like most of the season. He has matured.

“I find it difficult to believe David Moyes, going into a job like he is, will allow a jewel like that to go on loan. I think he will be ready [for Manchester United] straight away.

“I have never seen feet quicker than his. I think he can take the Premier League by storm.”
