Wolfsburg

Alisa Vetterlein
The busier of the two goalkeepers. The Wolfsburg shot-stopper had to be alert throughout a testing first half to deny the defending champions. 8/10

Luisa Wensing
Struggled to keep Rapinoe under wraps in the first half but improved after the interval when tasked with keeping Lyon substitute Le Sommer quiet. 6

Zsanett Jakabfi
Notable contribution was an ambitious attempt to lob Bouhaddi in the second half but David Beckham-esque attempt dropped short. 5

Anna Blasse
Had little say on the match as she was closely watched by the impressive Lyon skipper. 5

Alexandra Popp
Blasted over from a Wolfsburg corner as a training ground routine failed to pay dividends. However, she impressed marking Thomas. 7

Nadine Kessler
Quiet first half before the Wolfsburg skipper brought down Henry in a dangerous position. Fortunately it didn’t result in the final’s opener. 6

Ivonne Hartmann
Was alert to the danger when Henry and Rapince combined to neatly unlock the Wolfsburg rearguard. Solid throughout the final. 7.

Martina Mueller
Quiet for most of the game. However, she showed nerves of steel to score a decisive goal – like her Bayern Munich namesake does so often – dispatching her spot-kick emphatically past Bouhaddi. 7

Conny Poohlers
The veteran striker had Wolfsburg’s best chance of the first half but her shot narrowly curled wide. Proved a constant thorn in Lyon’s side and never stopped closing down the opposition. 8

Josephine Henning
Found it difficult to make space with Lyon’s back-four on top for most of the match. 5

Lena Goessling
Solid in midfield and protected her back four if Lyon came too close to test Vetterlein. 7

SUBSTITUTES

Lina Magull
Had a chance to seal the win for Wolfsburg but was denied by Bouhaddi. 5

Navina Omilade
Came on as a second-half substitute but had little time to make an impact.

Lyon

Sarah Bouhaddi
Had very little to do throughout the final as her outfield team-mates pressed for a goal at Stamford Bridge. Found herself unable to deny Mueller from the spot. 5

Wendie Renard
A calm presence in the Lyon back four. Helped her side through moments of danger with a reassuring block or a tackle. Also helped build their frequent attacks from the back. 8

Laura Georges
Great cross-field pass to her American team-mate which almost led to the first goal in the 25th minute. However, the defender’s night took a turn for the worse with a nasty knock to her head before giving away the deciding penalty in the 72nd minute. 4

Amandine Henry
Great early tackle to deny Wolfsburg in the opening five minutes. Also threatened from a corner with a header which went narrowly wide. 7

Megan Rapinoe
Silky touches in the first half and used possession well. First-time shot failed to trouble Bouhaddi. Replaced at half-time. 6

Lotta Schelin
Clever running ensured the Wolfsburg centre-halves were kept busy. Had a chance saved in the 14th minute before her curling effort was denied at the half-hour mark. Impressed in midfield. 6

Louisa Necib
Necib was quietly effective as she slipped subtle passes into the feet of team-mates. Had a second-half shot deflected wide. 7

Elodie Thomis
After being closely marked in the first half, she managed to break free of Popp for the first time and drew Vetterlein out of her goal before squaring to Schelin, who slipped at the vital moment. Was a real handful in the second half. 7

Corine Franco
Didn’t have a big say on the final. Lasted the best part of 60 minutes before being replaced by Le Sommer. 5

Sonia Bompastor
Lyon captain was solid throughout the showpiece as she supported her team-mate at right midfield while limited Jakabfi to few chances. 7

Camile Abily
With the Stamford Bridge crowd enjoying a Mexican wave, Abily may have been distracted as she miscued her effort over the crossbar when it appeared easier to score. Could have broken the deadlock again later but denied by a superb save. 7

SUBSTITUTES

Lara Dickenmann
Introduced for Rapinoe at half-time. Unable to capitalise when gives acres of space to pick out a cross after Wolfsburg switch off at a Lyon throw in. Replaced before the final whistle. 3

Eugenie Le Sommer
Came on as a second-half substitute but proved ineffectual. 4

Amel Majri
Had little time to influence the game.
