Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla sets his sights on winning trophies next season
Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla hopes the Gunners win some trophies next term following their impressive finish last season
Santi Cazorla says he hopes Arsenal can improve and challenge for silverware next season.
The Spain international impressed in his first Premier League campaign after the 28-year-old scored 12 goals and made 11 assists in 38 top-flight appearances.
Cazorla, who is currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup, was named Arsenal’s player of the season for his eye-catching performances following a move from Malaga.
And the diminutive playmaker is optimistic the Gunners can build on their 10-game unbeaten run at the end of the season and challenge for trophies next term.
“When the team does not win and we do not get the results we want, the collective confidence does drop a little and that is natural,” Cazorla told the Daily Star.
“Now we have put in a spectacular run-in and you can see the difference in mentality.
“We have great players. I am sure we will be a better team and improve.
“This season we hope we can be even better and win trophies and the supporters can enjoy it. That is what Arsenal really wants.”
