Arsenal transfers: ‘Ashley Williams is worth at least £10m’
Arsenal transfers: Ashley Williams would fully justify a price-tag of move than £10m, according to Swansea City's Ben Davies
Ashley Williams would fully justify a price-tag of more than £10m, according to Swansea City defender Ben Davies.
Williams has been linked with a transfer away from the Liberty Stadium in recent weeks, with both Arsenal and Liverpool linked with moves for the 28-year-old.
And his Swans team-mate Davies believes that Williams was one of the top defenders in the English top flight last season.
“Last season I would say Ash was one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League, I cannot think of many who were better than him. The job he did was incredible,” said Davies.
“A price of £10m or more to sign him is completely justified.
“You see some of the money that gets spent in this league on players who are unproven in the Premier League. I think £10million is more than a fair price.
“You could see last season how good he was for us and he would be a massive loss.
“At the moment he is still a Swansea player and hopefully that will stay the same, but if he does leave for another club we will have to adapt quickly.”
