Arsenal transfers: Bacary Sagna reveals that he is in talks with Gunners over the possibility of extending his current contract
Bacary Sagna has revealed that he is in talks with Arsenal about the possibility of extending his contract with the north Londoners.
The 30-year-old has one year remaining on his current Gunners deal and has been linked with a potential transfer to Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in recent months.
The France international has not ruled out the possibility of penning an extension with the Gunners but did not commit his future to the north London side.
“There are [talks] but I still haven’t extended my contract,” Sagna told L’Equipe.
“I’m talking. I’m not at a bad club either. It’s possible [I will return to France].
“We’d have to see in which conditions and, in sporting terms, what they propose. I won’t go just anywhere.
“If I stay at Arsenal, I’ll try to have a good season, there’s the World Cup at the end of it. If I’m to leave, it’ll be a new challenge.”
Sagna has played 236 games for Arsenal, scoring four goals and making 19 assists, since joining the club from Auxerre back in 2007.
