Edinson Cavani will not be sold for less than £54m, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has warned Premier League clubs.

The 26-year-old’s future at the Naples outfit has been in doubt for the past few months despite him penning a new contract at the club last August.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been linked with a move for the Uruguay international, who scored 29 goals in 34 top-flight appearances for Napoli this season.

And although Napoli have had “many offers” for the player, De Laurentiis insists the forward will not leave the Serie A outfit for less than his buy-out clause of £54m.

“Cavani has a contract for another four years and a buy-out clause worth £54m,” De Laurentiis told reporters.

“We have received many offers for Cavani, but all of them were much lower than the buy-out clause.”

Cavani has scored 104 goals in 138 appearances for Napoli after completing a switch to Stadio San Paolo from Palermo in 2010.
