Arsenal transfers: Laurent Koscielny rubbishes talk of the Gunners defender leaving Barcelona and Bayern Munich
Laurent Koscielny has rubbished talk of the Arsenal defender leaving The Emirates this summer.
The France international has been attracting interest from Champions League winners Bayern Munich after the Gunners defender impressed in the final quarter of the season.
The 27-year-old still has four years remaining on his Arsenal contract, and the centre-half is happy to remain at the north London side.
“I have a four-year contract. For now, I am still at Arsenal,” Koscielny told La Montagne.
Koscielny scored the vital winner in a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on the final day of the season which sealed Arsenal’s spot in next season’s Champions League.
And the Frenchman is thrilled the Gunners were able to secure their place in Europe’s premier club competition after crashing out at the last 16 stage last term.
He added: “The second leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich was a trigger for us. In the process, we almost won everything.
“The most important thing is that Arsenal is in the Champions League. It is super exciting to play against the best teams in Europe.”
Koscielny has scored 10 goals in 119 appearances for Arsenal after completing a reported £8.5m move to The Emirates from Lorient in 2010.
