Arsenal transfers: Steven Taylor happy at Newcastle
Arsenal transfers: Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor says he is 'living the dream' at the Magpies
Steven Taylor says he is still living the dream at Newcastle United amid speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal and Fulham.
The England international, who has three years left on his current Newcastle contract, has remained loyal to the Magpies despite tough times at St James’ Park.
And Taylor was one of Alan Pardew’s most consistent performers last season as he racked up 25 Premier League appearances for his hometown club, who finished a disappointing 16th.
London duo Arsenal and Fulham have both been linked with Taylor, as well as Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille, but Taylor reiterated his desire to stay at the Magpies.
“Being at Newcastle is the best thing that has ever happened to me,” Taylor told the Chronicle.
“I am still living the dream of every young lad that is in this city.
“I still cannot describe the feeling when you walk over that line in front of 52,000 fans in a stadium like ours.
“It is what I have always wanted to do. I have to keep pinching myself.”
Taylor has scored 13 goals in 241 appearances for Newcastle after progressing through the club’s youth ranks and making his first-team debut against Mallorca in the Uefa Cup in 2004.
