Just days since Jose Mourinho announced his long-awaited return to Chelsea, viagogo has reported a 307 per cent rise in searches for tickets to see the Blues play.

Mourinho penned a four-year contract with the west Londoners on Monday to secure a return to the club he led to six trophies between 2004 and 2007.

Official Chelsea ticket exchange partner viagogo said that its website has also seen a record number of registrations for ticket alerts to see Chelsea since the Portuguese coach’s return to Stamford Bridge was confirmed.

“We expected to see a rise in searches for Chelsea tickets once it became apparent that Mourinho was coming back to the club,” said viagogo spokesperson Steve Roest.

“However, with over two months before Chelsea are even scheduled to play their first official match of the season, the demand we’ve seen confirms just how popular an appointment Jose is.

“Fans from all over the world are clearly looking for ways to catch one of their most successful managers back in action next season.”

Viagogo helps season ticket holders who can’t make a match recoup some of their money by listing the tickets they cannot use. This gives other fans a chance to go to matches, even when they are sold out.
