Edinson Cavani has asked his parents to keep quiet as the speculation linking him with a move away from Napoli rumbles on.

The 26-year-old Uruguay international is a reported target for both Chelsea and Real Madrid, with Manchester City also interested in the forward.

Both Cavani’s mother and father have spoken out about their son’s future in recent weeks, claiming that he is almost certain to leave Naples this summer.

But Cavani, who has been heavily linked with a £50m transfer to Stamford Bridge, insists that there is nothing new to report about his situation.

“My father has talked about Real? I want to point out that these words are not coming from me,” said Cavani.

“I’ve asked my parents a thousand times not to say any more. They can only hurt me.

“I belong to Napoli as it stands and that depends on the club. If another option presents itself, we will evaluate it.”

Asked about the speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid, Cavani added: “I will make myself clear on this point too – I’ve always said they’re one of the best clubs in the world.

“We’ve all dreamed of playing for them, as we have with Barcelona, but now I’m at Napoli and very proud of the fact.”
