David Gill: Wilfried Zaha offers ‘something different’ to Man United
David Gill believes Wilfried Zaha will become an "exciting" player for Manchester United in seasons to come
David Gill is convinced that Wilfried Zaha will become an “exciting” player for Manchester United in seasons to come.
Gill was responsible for wrapping up the deal to bring the forward to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace back in January in what turned out to be his final piece of transfer business before leaving the club.
And the former Red Devils chief executive is backing the England Under-21 international to impress for the Premier League champions next term.
“It’s going to be a big learning curve for him [Zaha], he knows that. But I think he’s going to be an exciting Manchester United player – that’s our view,” Gill said in a new United book called Champions 20|13.
“He’s something different. He can beat a man, he can play in the middle or wide. It’s great for us.”
The 20-year-old Zaha completed a £10m move to Old Trafford back in January before being loaned back to Crystal Palace for the rest of the season.
