Eden Hazard: It’s a pleasure to have Jose Mourinho at Chelsea
Eden Hazard describes Jose Mourinho's return to Chelsea as a "pleasure" after coach secures return to west London
Eden Hazard has described Jose Mourinho’s return to Chelsea as a “pleasure” after the Portuguese coach signed a four-year deal with the Blues on Monday.
Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge for a second spell in charge of the west Londoners after having led the club to six trophies between 2004 and 2007 during his first stint in charge.
And Hazard admits he is looking forward to working under the 50-year-old.
“Jose Mourinho is someone special and it’s a pleasure to have him as a coach,” Hazard told the Guardian.
“They already knew for a long time at Chelsea that he was going to sign and the players all told me that it would be a good thing for me.
“Maybe in the first training session I will be a bit intimidated. After all, it’s Jose Mourinho. But he is also a man, with two arms and two legs and so, in the end, I will have a normal relationship with him, just as I have with my previous coaches.”
Speaking in his first interview since taking over at Chelsea, Mourinho said he is relishing the chance to work with the likes of Hazard.
“The profile of the younger players with long-term space for improvement and development, I like very much that kind of profile,” Mourinho told Chelsea TV.
“I’ve come with a four-year contract so with the age of Eden Hazard, Oscar, David Luiz and these boys, I think it will be good for me to work with them and good for them to work with me.”
