‘Gareth Bale could regret not making Real Madrid move’

Gareth Bale could regret not moving to Real Madrid if he has the chance this summer, says ex-Tottenham forward Terry Gibson

Gareth Bale could regret not moving to Real Madrid should the Spanish giants table a big-money bid for the Tottenham Hotspur winger, according to Terry Gibson.

The 23-year-old’s future has been a source of constant speculation in recent months following a stellar season for Spurs which earned him the PFA player and young player of the year awards.

Madrid are among the favourites to sign the Wales international should he opt to quit White Hart Lane this summer.

And former Tottenham forward Gibson believes Bale would be an instant hit at the Bernabeu should a move materialise.

“You know what can happen in football. Currently he’s hot at the moment but in a year’s time it may be through injury that his season isn’t successful,” Gibson, 50, told talkSPORT.

“It could be a series of niggling injuries and then Real Madrid go away and for the rest of your life and career you’re left thinking ‘Should have I gone to Real Madrid?’

“If he went to Real Madrid he would be a hit. It’s a massive call.”
