Hugo Lloris thanks Tottenham Hotspur's "powerful" fans after his first season at White Hart Lane following move from Lyon
Hugo Lloris has thanked Tottenham’s “powerful” fans after his first season at White Hart Lane.
The French goalkeeper successfully edged out Brad Friedel to become Andre Villas-Boas’s first choice between the posts and make 27 Premier League starts for the Lilywhites last term.
And the 26-year-old, who moved to White Hart Lane from Lyon on transfer deadline day last summer, has paid tribute to Spurs’ supporters following his first campaign in north London.
“This season has been important for me, a new step in my career and I really appreciate playing for Tottenham and playing at White Hart Lane with great fans,” Lloris told Tottenham’s website.
“The fans travel with us everywhere, all over Europe and I have a huge respect for that.
“I think there is a big community at White Hart Lane between players and fans.
“We won a lot of important games this season including Arsenal and Manchester City and that’s when we really felt the power of our fans. It was a great feeling.”
