Mourinho’s return to Chelsea can’t be a bad decision, insists Ballack
Michael Ballack has backed Jose Mourinho's decision to return to Chelsea and fully expects him to be a success once again
Michael Ballack has backed Jose Mourinho’s decision to return to Chelsea and fully expects the Portuguese coach to be a success at Stamford Bridge.
The 50-year-old, who won two Premier League titles at the club between 2004 and 2007, was appointed as Blues boss for a second time on Monday after signing a four-year deal with the west Londoners.
And Ballack, who was signed by Mourinho at Chelsea in 2006, feels that his former manager is destined for more success with the Blues.
“He is a great character and a great coach. Even at his age he has had unbelievable success,” Ballack, who retired last October, is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“To go back to a club like this, it is never a bad decision. Chelsea are a fantastic club – they won the Champions League last year and this year the Europa League.
“The money will be right for him, the fans love him, he has a lot of English supporters, even if they don’t support Chelsea.”
