Juan Mata admits it is a relief to have had some time to “recharge” in the last few days following a testing season at Chelsea.
The Blues played a staggering 76 games in all competitions, with Mata making over 65 appearances for the west Londoners as they lifted the Europa League and finished third in the top flight.
And the 25-year-old, who will feature for Spain at the Confederations Cup later this month, says he is grateful to have a few days off.
“I’ve rested a few days with no training sessions or matches to play, time that I’ve spent with my family, so no complaints,” Mata wrote on his blog on grada360.com.
“It really feels good after such a long season and it helps me to recharge my batteries prior to the Confederations Cup.
“In the last few days I spent time with my relatives and friends, enjoyed Asturias and played other sports.”
