Liverpool transfers: Blackpool would consider ‘ridiculous offer’ for Ince
Liverpool transfers: Blackpool manager Paul Ince says it would take a "ridiculous offer" to lure his son Thomas away from the club
Paul Ince says it would take a “ridiculous offer” to lure his son Thomas away from Blackpool amid reported Liverpool and Manchester United interest.
The 21-year-old forward has impressed for the Tangerines over the course of the season, scoring 18 goals in 44 Championship appearances.
The England Under-21 international, who joined Blackpool from Liverpool in 2011, won the Football League young player of the year award for his eye-catching displays this term.
Ince senior, who is currently Blackpool boss, wants to keep the former Reds youth graduate as he plots the club’s bid to secure promotion to the Premier League.
“We knew there would be a lot of interest in Thomas and that’s proving to be the case,” Ince told the Blackpool Gazette.
“But speaking to him, he will be happy to come and play here again. I’m not saying he doesn’t want to go and play in the Premier League because I know one day he will.
“If we can keep him for the next 12 months, then it will save us from looking elsewhere.
“We’d like to keep him but if someone makes a ridiculous offer we’ll have to look at it. Fingers crossed he’ll be here again next year.”
