Liverpool transfers: Mamadou Sakho confirms that he has an offer to leave PSG from another club amid Anfield link
Mamadou Sakho has confirmed that he has received an offer from another club to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer amid speculation linking the defender with a transfer to Liverpool.
The 23-year-old was limited to 24 Ligue 1 starts for Carlo Ancelotti’s PSG last season and the France international has admitted his frustration at not being handed more first-team opportunities last term.
Sakho has been touted as a possible target for Brendan Rodgers as the Liverpool boss looks to bolster his defensive options following Jamie Carragher’s retirement – and has also been linked with a switch to AC Milan.
And the Paris-born centre-half, capped 13 times by France, says he will hold talks with new PSG boss Laurent Blanc after revealing that he has an offer on the table from another club.
“I’ll be able to talk with the new coach and see what he thinks,” Sakho said.
“I am flattered by the interest of historic clubs like Liverpool and AC Milan. We will see what happens in the near future.
“I have to make a decision. PSG is my club, I was born here and I learned my football here. I want to play for this club all my life, but it is clear that I do not want to sit on the bench.
“I have not played as much as I would have liked last season because of the choices of the coach.”
He added: “Every player wants to play every week, too. There is an offer on the table.”
