Luis Suárez insists that there have been not yet been any official bids for the want-away Liverpool striker.

The 26-year-old’s future has become a source of relentless speculation since he declared his desire to leave Anfield after the end of the season.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have been touted as possible destinations for the Uruguay forward, who drew level with Diego Forlán as his country’s all-time leading goal-scorer on Sunday.

However, the player himself insists that neither he or Liverpool have been approached by any clubs, describing the speculation about his future as “just rumours”.

“No-one has spoken with me or with Liverpool,” said Suárez.

“I’m here to defend my country. The press have spoken a lot about my future but there is nothing concrete, it’s all just rumours.”

Suárez scored Uruguay’s only goal in the 2-1 Confederations Cup defeat by Spain in Recife on Sunday.
