Philippe Coutinho says Luis Suárez is his “funniest” Liverpool team-mate amid continuing uncertainty surrounding the Uruguayan’s future at Anfield.

The 20-year-old has been a sensation for the Merseyside outfit after completing a £8.5m move to the Reds from Inter Milan in January, scoring three goals and making five assists.

Coutinho developed a fruitful understanding with his fellow forwards Daniel Sturridge and Suárez as Brendan Rodgers’ men lost just one game in 12 Premier League outings.

And the Brazil youngster revealed his good relationship with Suárez, who confirmed his desire to leave Liverpool last week, exists both on and off the pitch.

“Luis Suárez always makes me laugh. He usually has a smile on his face. I get on well with him both on and off the pitch,” Coutinho told Liverpool’s website.

Coutinho already has a wealth of experience despite being in the early stages of his career following spells with La Liga’s Espanyol and 18-time Italian champions Inter.

And the South American reckons playing in three different European leagues will only serve to help him improve and become a better player.

“Obviously football is different in each country,” he added.

“In England it is played at a very high pace, a speed that I found amazing at first. The experiences I’ve had in different leagues should help me to become a better player.”
