Jesús Navas believes he is suited to the Premier League after completing a move to Manchester City from Sevilla on Tuesday.

The Spain international finalised his reported £17m move following a medical in New York, where the winger is currently on international duty ahead of the Confederations Cup.

Navas, who has 23 caps for Spain, scored 34 goals in 393 appearances for Sevilla, winning six major trophies in the process, as well as featuring in the Champions League.

Navas joins fellow Spaniard David Silva at the Citizens, and the 27-year-old World Cup winner is looking forward to taking the next step in his career.

“Manchester City is an exciting project and this is the right moment for me to take this step,” Navas told City’s website.

“I’m very happy with the opportunity and the decision.

“The Premier League is a competition where the football is very fast and will suit the way I play. I’m really looking forward to it.

“I’m going to a great club in England and I want to continue developing my game there.

“The club has put a lot of faith in me and I want to repay them out on the pitch.”

Navas is City’s second signing of the summer after the Eastlands outfit completed a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk star Fernandinho last week.
