Claudio Marchisio has emphasised his desire to stay at Juventus despite speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Manchester United.

The Italy international has been one of the driving forces behind Juve’s recent success, helping the Turin outfit win back-to-back Serie A titles.

The 27-year-old, who came through the club’s youth ranks before making his first-team debut in 2006, scored six goals and made one assist in 29 top-flight appearances this term.

The Red Devils are believed to be keen to strengthen their midfield options this summer, but Marchisio, in a show of loyalty, insisted he wanted to remain at his boyhood club.

“I want to stay at Juventus,” Marchisio told Tuttosport.

“I would like to continue battling for and winning with the club in which I grew up in.”

Marchisio has won two Serie A titles and the Coppa Italia since emerging as a talismanic force in Antonio Conte’s side over the past three seasons.

And Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta insisted the reigning Italian champions would not entertain the possibility of selling their star midfielder.

“Our goal is not to sell but to strengthen the team,” Marotta told Sky Italia. “Marchisio has Juventus DNA and the player’s will is influential.”

United target Marchisio has scored has scored 28 goals and made 23 assists for Juventus.
