Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has once again attempted to end the speculation linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a return to Manchester United by insisting that the Portugal star is not for sale.

The 28-year-old’s future has been a source of constant speculation in recent months, with United reported to be ready to make a move to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

Cash-rich Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a big-money swoop for the forward, who has two years left on his contract with Los Blancos.

However, Perez insists that the former United winger is “happier than ever” at the Bernabeu and insists the club have no intention on cashing in on their prized asset.

“He has two years of contract left,” Perez said. “He is happier every day here. He has no wish to leave Real Madrid and wants to end his career here. He wants to go into history as someone very important at Real Madrid.”

Newly-appointed Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti also hinted that Ronaldo is set to stay at the La Liga club at the Italian’s unveiling earlier this week.

“It will be an honour for me to coach Ronaldo,” Ancelotti said. “As it was coaching players like [Zinedine] Zidane, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho in the past.”
