Man United transfers: Marco Verratti's agent confirms the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder wants a pay rise amid interest from Red Devils
Marco Verratti’s agent has confirmed the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder wants a pay rise amid interest from Manchester United.
The Italy Under-21 international has been a big hit at the Parisian club, making 27 appearances in their title-winning campaign.
Verratti moved to PSG from Serie B side Pescara last summer, and his performances have alerted Premier League champions United and Real Madrid.
His agent Donato Di Campli says the midfielder is flattered to be linked with clubs of Madrid’s calibre but expects to stay at Ligue 1 winners.
“I’ll talk to the directors in Paris next week to discuss his future,” Di Campli told Sport Mediaset.
“We’ll also discuss a pay rise.
“Verratti is tied to the outfit for another four seasons, but he is no longer the player who arrived from Pescara.
“His value is now different and we’ll also evaluate these aspects.
“Real Madrid? I read a lot of stories in the newspapers and it is pleasing to know that Marco is being followed by great clubs such as Real.”
Verratti, who has three Italy caps, scored two goals in 76 appearances for Pescara before completing a move to PSG.
