‘Man City’s Jesús Navas is like Tottenham star Gareth Bale’

Andres Iniesta believes Manchester City’s summer signing Jesus Navas is comparable to Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale.

The Spain international finalised a reported £14.9m move earlier this month while on international duty with La Roja at the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Navas, who has 23 caps for Spain, scored 34 goals in 393 appearances for Sevilla, winning six major trophies in the process, as well as featuring in the Champions League.

And Barcelona midfielder Iniesta reckons Navas is similar to Real Madrid target Bale in terms of his pace and skill, with the Welshman scored 21 top-flight goals last term.

“He’s going to cause the defences in the Premier League a real problem when he plays for City,” Iniesta told the Sunday Mirror.

“Jesus has so much speed, and his feet are so quick, that it becomes nearly impossible to stop him without fouling him.

“The only player that I can compare him with that is already playing in England is Gareth Bale.”

Navas is City’s second signing of the summer after the Eastlands outfit completed a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk star Fernandinho earlier in June.
