Pepe Reina has once again underlined his desire to stay at Liverpool despite the persistent speculation linking him with a transfer to Barcelona.

The 30-year-old’s future has been called into question as the Reds continue to be linked with a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

However, in an interview with Spanish newspaper AS, the Spain international insists that he does not intend to quit Anfield.

Asked if he would like to play at the Camp Nou, Reina joked: “Right now, with Liverpool, it’s going to be difficult as we’re not in the Champions League and so if it’s not in a friendly, it will be quite difficult.

But when asked again about his future, he insisted: “It’s quite clear – I am under contract with Liverpool and right now, there are not going to be any changes.”

Reina has three years left to run on his current Liverpool deal.
