Harry Redknapp’s Queen Park Rangers side will begin life in the Championship with an opening-day fixture at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

Fellow relegated side Wigan Athletic – who will have Owen Coyle in charge of the first-team – face a trip to Barnsley.

Reading, who were also relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2012-13 season, will start their campaign at home against Ipswich Town.

Last year’s play-off finalists Watford travel to Birmingham City, while losing semi-finalists Brighton and Leicester City travel to Leeds and Middlesbrough respectively

Yeovil Town’s maiden campaign in English football’s second tier starts with a trip to Millwall, as Steve Lomas’ reign at the New Den begins.

Doncaster and Bournemouth, who joined Gary Johnson’s side in being promoted from League One both start with home fixtures, with Blackpool and Charlton their opponents.

The first round of fixtures will conclude with special games to mark the Football League’s 125th anniversary, with four founder members meeting.

There will be a Lancashire derby at Turf Moor with Burnley facing Bolton Wanderers, while Blackburn Rovers travel to Derby County.

Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield complete the line-up of clashes on 3 August, as they meet each other at The City Ground.

Meanwhile. Wolverhampton Wanderers – who were consigned to successive relegations after finishing 23rd last season – begin their first campaign in the third tier since 1988-89 with a trip to Preston North End.
